Domenici Institute of Public Policy
New Mexico State University, Las Cruces, NM
2012
LEED Silver Certification anticipated

The Domenici Institute for Public Policy (IPP) is a complex renovation/repurposing project which visually and functionally connects two, non-descript, campus buildings into one cohesive, vibrant facility. The Hershel Zohn Theatre was transformed into a state-of-the-art conference center with offices, meeting rooms, multi-media lecture hall, and seminar/classroom space. The Branson Library, connected to the theatre by a glass encased bridge, is an efficient, flexible, secure, temperature and humidity controlled archive holding Senator Domenici’s collected papers from his distinguished career.

The IPP Conference Center with its Boardroom, meeting facilities, and offices for staff and visiting researchers also provides a flexible-use, acoustic environment with a technology rich infrastructure. Technology supports personal devices, video imaging, web streaming, a live video capture with 3 high def cameras for the presenter area and 2 audience cameras.

The renovation design ties to and enhance NMSU’s original ‘Mission” design idiom within the historic campus center.
