Cherry Hills Branch Library - Albuquerque NM

The 14,000 square foot public library was designed to function as a neighborhood focal point. The intensive community involvement in the planning and design phases helped establish a sense of neighborhood ownership of the Library.

A strong focus of the library design was the children’s area which features a large story telling/project room which can be closed off w/sliding glass doors. The room also opens to the outside. Low book shelves & reading cubbies make the space special for the users.

The efficient layout of the 50,000 volume library enables it to be managed by minimal staff, a savings on the the operations budget. The library is equipped with state-of-the-art computerization and on-line services.
