University of New Mexico Student Union Building

The three-story Union is organized around a new interior atrium. Courtyards and plazas with shaded seating areas and new entryways from established campus traffic patterns open the Union in all directions.

Students enjoy the relocated and upgraded food services, enlarged computer center, increased office space for student organizations and student services, reorganized recreation facilities, and the diversity of lounge/ study spaces.

An enlarged Conference Center with flexible spaces, meeting rooms, distance learning hookups, and an improved Ballroom with full banquet facilities add to the diversity of the new SUB. The building exterior, derived from the campus ‘pueblo revival’ style, projects a strong sense of place.

Designed in association with WTW Architects of Pittsburgh, the complete renovation of the 154,000 square foot Union includes the installation of all new building systems.
